Thursday February 27, 2020-Cove Neighborhood Association general meeting. We had an update from our board and then heard from our speaker for the evening. Our speaker was Scott Kassouf, the Assistant Superintendent of Recreation for the City Of Stamford under Superintendent Laurie Albano. Scott talked about the city's recreation program called The Star Center Program, which focuses on programs for youth including: games, crafts, music, dance, cooking, home school gym classes and vacation day camps and the programs for adults, which are more fitness oriented.
CNA general meeting was held Wednesday November 13, 2019 at 7:00pm at Chelsea Piers, second floor room Studio C. In addition to an update from our board, we will be hearing from Mark McGrath - Director Of Operations for the City Of Stamford on the upcoming leaf removal process. Our featured speaker for the evening will be Arthur Mycelynas - Lead Rate Specialist of the Public Utility Commission for the State Of Connecticut. Art will be talking about solar energy, the options you have in obtaining it, as well as how to choose your electric supplier, it will be very interesting and informative! Wednesday, April 10th at 7:00 pm at Chelsea Piers - Update on I-95 Closing the first two weekends of June including the traffic planning and other details.
Wednesday February 27th, 2018 7:00 pm at Chelsea Piers - Update from our board, about upcoming events and our guest speaker for the evening, Josie Carpanzano, who administrates the City Of Stamford's "FIX IT" website, the terrific new web portal for communicating with the city about issues that need attention in your neighborhood. Josie will take us through the website and explain how to use it and get the most out of it.
In addition, for those of you that live on Weed Avenue, Weed Circle and Holly Cove Circle, Burns Construction, the company that is handling the installation of the new gas line spoke about when the project completion and addressed the muddy and damaged grass areas in front of homes and along the street that have occurred from the truck and tractor tires. They have said they will be taking care of these damaged areas at the end of the project with their landscaper contractor, repairing and reseeding as required and asked to please pass this information along to the members of the CNA.

Captain Thomas Lombardo, Stamford Police Department
Topics will include an update on criminal activity in the Cove including car and home break-ins, drug related arrests traffic and some ideas and suggestions as to how to prevent break in activity.
Daniel Collelouri Supervisor of Recycling and Sanitation, City of Stamford
Topics will include a discussion of the current leaf pickup procedure and the new rules for recycling

Reviewed trailway system connecting 15 states, 450 cities and towns and 3,000 miles of people powered trails from Maine to Florida and 2 miles of the journey passing through The Cove! Our Speakers were Frank Petise - Traffic Engineer from The City of Stamford and Jerry Silber - volunteer coordinator for People Friendly Stamford, who shared more detail about the East Coast Greenway . We will also covered other current news and issues going on the Cove.
October 19th, 7PM at Chelsea Piers. The Cove neighborhood Association hosted the candidates for Mayor, Town Clerk and Districts 1, 4 and 8. It was excellent opportunity for all of us hear candidates speak their views and to bring the issues of the Cove front and center.
Thursday June 22nd, 7PM at Chelsea Piers. Updates on Courtland Park (The Hunt Complex), Holly Pond and many other issues in our neighborhood. Lots of opportunities to meet the neighbors, and a presentation by Michael Feighan from Silver Source. Silver Source is a local organization providing services to Senior Citizens.
Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Chelsea Piers. Emily Provonsha of the City's Transportation Department gave us an update on the bicycle and pedestrian program she is working on. We were also given an update on the new on-street parking ordinance as well as other issues.
